Constitutional Law, Theory of Law and Philosophy of Law Section

Contemporary Issues of Human Rights Philosophy and Practice

Human rights are a significant topic of legal science. After a long-standing emphasis on the idea of human dignity, which has traditionally been viewed as their basis, it is now shaken up as philosophically questionable. At the same time, we are facing so-called human rights inflation and we hear about their judicialization and activism of human rights institutions. The section welcomes contributions related to current human rights issues, whether they deal with the idea of human rights as such or with specific human rights. Both philosophical and practical approaches to the issue are invited.
