Legal Language in Professional Discourse
This panel focuses primarily on the linguistic and legal aspects of translating and teaching professional legal terms in English. Submissions on other foreign languages are also welcome. Topics to be discussed will include, among others, translatological challenges - solutions in translating legal texts, with emphasis on accuracy, consistency and the specificities of legal systems, and challenges and perspectives in integrating with professional language teaching. The objective is to enhance interdisciplinary dialogue and exchange of knowledge, to contribute to a higher quality of understanding between legal systems and to improve the processes of teaching professional legal language.
