Legal Communication in Foreign Languages Section

Legal Communication and Language in the Era of Innovation: Tradition, Education and New Technologies

The section focuses on the changing role of legal language and legal communication in the context of contemporary innovations, including the use of digital technologies, while maintaining continuity with established legal traditions. Attention is given to legal translation and legal terminology in the context of European Union law, as well as to the tension between Legalese and Plain English within common law, viewed within the broader framework of a multilingual and multicultural legal space. Contributions addressing the incorporation of EU law terminology into the teaching process and the ways of dealing with the Plain English movement within legal education and the professional teaching of foreign languages for specific purposes are also welcome.
